Nobody knows I'm gay

What a nice day!

Today I did nothing. I sat in front of the TV and watched an endless stream of mindless shows on HGTV, MTV, Discovery, and TLC. (Now watching rerun of Queer as Folk - when the hell are the new ones coming out?) I'm all caught up on housework and the only dirty laundry that I have is what I'm wearing now and what I had on yesterday. It is so cold outside it feels nice to sit and cuddle with the cats on the couch. Life is good. Haven't done 'nothing' for such a long time.

So, I had an interview with this company last Friday that I would really like to work at. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. After a year of unemployment it would be nice to have a steady job instead of consulting.

Finally had to back off my relationship with Rob this past week. He really isn't good for me in so many ways. He's a good guy, don't get me wrong, but we are just at very different places in our lives now. I really don't have any major complaints after 4 years of being together - it was just time for a change. I think that there is a real good possibility that we can be friends going forward though. This makes me happy.

I have been posting a great deal of private entries lately - just for me to look at and reflect. It is a type of therapy for me I guess. But I promise to post more public entries if anyone is interested.

Hope everyone has a wonderful 2004.

Christmas shopping

I just got back from the mall (I know - what am I thinking!) And everyone looked so pissy!

All around me there were adults with scowls on their faces - pushing, shoving, shopping - just nasty everywhere I looked.

I then noticed this little kid - around 5 or 6 and he was just ear-to-ear smiles. Didn't have a care in the world. And I thought to myself that if just a fraction of the adults took a lesson from this kid the world would be a happier place.

Shortly after 9/11 people were nicer to each other. Small things didn't matter as much to them. Don't get me wrong, I wish 9/11 never happened - but I do wish that we could return to a time where people were nicer to each other like the months after the event.

So if you find yourself in the mall, or anywhere really, take the time to smile. Be nice.

I have been soooo tired lately. My show is going great and closing night is Sunday.

So much has happened in the past few weeks - I've moved offices, I finished my basement, I'm in the show, and I've been a little under the weather. All in all everything has been going well though.

Business is picking up a bit so that's keeping the bill collectors at bay.

At the end of the month my LJ subscription is up. I'm trying to decide if I will renew or not.

Random thoughts I know - but I promise that after this weekend I will post more.

(no subject)

Hello all.

So I'm lying in bed with a heating pad on my lower back (cause it hurts!) and my laptop watching the opening monologue of David Letterman. Howard Stern and Iggy Pop are on tonight - really of no interest to me. I lead kind of a dull life don't I?

So this weekend was awesome. Forever Plaid opened this past Friday to WONDERFUL audiences. We got standing ovations all three nights. So awesome! I really didn't think that it was going to come off as well as it did. People really like it.

You know - something hit me today. Hair. Why is it that once it leaves the body it is the most disgusting thing? When it's on our head it's beautiful and people fuss over it. We touch it and groom it. We caress it. We admire it on others... But once it lands on a piece of our food or we have to pull it out of our sink trap it is the most disgusting thing in the world. Why?

Anyhoo - that's all for now.

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I'm in rehearsal for my show that is opening up this Friday - so been very busy.

Thanks to everyone who gave me a shout out on my B-Day! I could feel the love! (The cakes were a little weird!)

I promise to update more often once the show is up on its feet.
